The Role of Persecution and Suffering

At this time, and compared to other parts of the world, working in Europe would generally be considered a lower-risk environment. However, that does not mean that there are no risks.

It also does not mean that we are called to a life without persecution and suffering. The battle that we fight is a spiritual battle, but it can have physical consequences when evil spiritual forces work against those who carry the banner and the message of Jesus.

Each missional worker should evaluate his or her own risks and understand that persecution and suffering are both likely, and probably even necessary. The Bible tells us that, as Christians, we should expect risk. We should expect danger.
