Questions to consider

As Jesus sent out his disciples, he said:

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.

Luke 10:2

We can only imagine the excitement that the disciples must have felt as the Messiah himself was sending them out to announce the good news of the kingdom of God in all of the towns where Jesus was about to go. They were each participating in God’s mission to see his plan move forward.

But what about us, now, in our day?

Does your church community feel that same sense of excitement, that same sense of anticipation about taking the message of the kingdom of God to the world? Do they feel the sense of passion and excitement living as for a true first love for Christ?

Do the people of your church know the mission that God is carrying out right here in our midst? Does your church community truly live on the mission that God has for each of us?

Are the younger people within your church continuing to live out their faith with the passion that God has given them?

The Mission

God has made us for a mission. He has, in fact, told us his mission within his Word and invited us into that mission already, yet many of us continue to ask God, day after day, what he wants us to do. We focus on ourselves instead of focusing on God and what he is doing. We ask God what he wants us to do instead of asking him what he is doing and learning how we can follow him in what he is doing.

Progetto 10:2 is a project by Search Party based on Jesus’s command to his disciples to pray for workers. Those workers must have come from the harvest because at that time, there were no other workers.

In our day, God is still sending out workers, so in collaboration with the churches with whom we are working, we pray for God to send out workers and when he does, we teach them to be part of God’s mission. Collaborating with churches, we teach the workers that God reveals and makes available from within a church to enter the harvest fields, sow the seed of the Gospel, make disciples who will learn to love and fully follow Christ, and start new groups that will one day become churches.

Working Together

The Search Party team will work with your church to develop a vision for your city and equip the people of your church to reach their community with the Gospel, making disciples and starting new churches. We do this through a process outlined in the path below:

To explain this process further, we will teach your team, training them so that they will be able to train others in your church. Search Party does not own the training. Instead, together, we learn practical ministry from the Bible and then teach the people within your church to lead the training, to own the vision, and take responsibility for the execution of your church’s vision for making disciples and planting churches everywhere that you wish to go, whether in your own city, your own region, or in a missional context overseas. You will be able to prepare your team to work locally or globally using the multi-generational disciple-making and church planting process that we will provide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in Progetto 10:2?

Search Party will work with any church that can agree to the statement of faith, as posted on our website at the preceding link.

The fundamental desire for each individual or church that wishes to participate is a desire to be part of God’s mission by multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ and planting churches, working to reach all of the people in the surrounding area, collaborating with other churches to glorify God and be part of expanding his kingdom using a practical strategy and plan.

For those who participate, to which church will they go?

Nothing will change about where someone will go to church, except to the extent that you are sending people out from your church to make disciples and start new groups that will one day become new churches planted from your church.

Where will the training take place?

Ideally, we will complete the training at your church. There may be situations in which collaborative work may happen between churches for the purpose of planting new churches in an area. In that case, we will develop a plan that will work well for the collaboration that we will do together.

In which name will the people make disciples, start discipleship groups, or plant new churches?

We seek to always do the work that we will do in the name of Christ. In addition, the workers will be connected to your church and only to your church.

How can I learn more about the training materials that you will be teaching?

We have posted everything for free on our website. In a training environment, we teach the material in a different order, but the content is the same. You are welcome to see more within the Finding Your Purpose in God’s Plan course and in the Four Fields practical ministry training course.
