An immigrant’s journey through the desert

Ryan Hale

Search Party works amongst unreached people groups, today primarily amongst those that have made the journey out of their home countries in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. For those that come from sub-Saharan Africa, the first major geographical challenge is often the crossing of the Sahara desert.

There aren’t any official statistics about how many people do not make it out of the desert, but to say the least, many die on the way through this difficult area, and they are simply left, only to be covered by the sand and never to be heard from again.

Telling his story

Ansu is a friend of ours who we recently interviewed, talking about his journey from Africa to Europe. In this video, he explains his experience as he went through the Sahara desert, thankfully to arrive on the other side.

There are many, many more who have made this journey. You can see more about this journey by watching this video from Eyewitness News:

These people are physically desperate, and find themselves in increasingly desperate situations as they venture into this journey across the Sahara. But many of them come from places and groups of people who do not know Jesus, rendering them desperate spiritually.

God wants to use the movement of these people so that they will know him. Will you be part of helping them to know him? If you want to know how, continue to read on here on the Search Party website or contact us and we will be happy to speak with you about how God may want to use you to reach those who are in desperate need of him.
