Introduction for Long-Term Overseas Workers

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field…”

As Jesus sent out his disciples to find persons of peace and share about the Kingdom of God, he first told them that they should pray for workers. Search Party has been praying for more workers, and if you are visiting this page, God may be prompting you as an answer to these prayers.

Search Party operates as a receiving agency, bringing new workers to the field who wish to make disciples and start new churches. We do this overseas by finding, discipling, and coaching local partners to lead the ministry that God wishes for them to have, reaching their own people through a Biblical pattern of sharing the Gospel, discipling, forming churches, and teaching others to do the same.

Qualifications

At a minimum, Search Party will look for new candidates based on these three characteristics:

Character: First and foremost, through your sending organization and recommendations from your sending church, we will evaluate your character. Being a person of Biblical character is of the utmost importance as we consider you as a new worker with Search Party.

Chemistry: Through a series of in-person, field-based interviews with Search Party teammates, we will make a determination of the Chemistry mix for you with the rest of the team.

Competency: Search Party will evaluate a potential new teammate’s competency based on their experience in disciple-making. We will expect that, prior to arriving in their new role, the new person will have:

  • Completed a Four Fields and Gospel Conversations training
  • Completed a demonstrable minimum of one year of evangelizing and discipling of others using the tools noted here in your home context.
